This August, the Troop 50 Thunderbirds will be hosting their annual Summer of Scouting throughout the month of August. Their newly renovated program will include exciting activities and games that incorporate scoutcraft skills such as camping, rescue knots, first aid, improvised shelter building, and much more. They have invited our cub scouts to join them!
Who should attend?
EVERYONE! While the target audience of this recruitment program is boys at or near the age to join Scouts BSA (Webelos, scouts 10+), we don’t want anyone to miss out. Friends, siblings, cousins, parents, etc. Everyone is welcome to come join in on the fun!
Where will it be?
Summer of Scouting will be held at the SAM Building of Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76109.
Every Tuesday in August, starting at 7PM and ending at 8:30PM
We will have a campout the weekend of August 19-21 at Camp Broadway on Eagle Mountain Lake
We will also have a picnic at Burgers Lake on August 27th
The last Tuesday of the month will be our Court of Honor ceremony, in which the Troop 50 boys will be awarded merit badges and rank advancement. Summer of Scouting guests will receive a commemorative Troop 50 prize!
Attendance at ALL of these is not required. If you can’t make it every day, we will enjoy seeing you on the days you can!
