Hi Pack 350!
I misspoke in last week's announcement in my recommendation to go camp in a state park as most of them are booked up already due to Covid: reduced supply and increased demand. Fear not! We have great activities and suggestions for you regardless of where your are camping!
Tips for the backyard campers
Check out Scouting Fun Day 10/24 from 10-2pm at Veterans Park in Arlington (see flyer below)
Go for a family hike at Fort Worth Nature Center, hike to the waterfall at Airfield Falls or consider a family walk or bike ride on the Trinity Trails
For Saturday dinner - either pick up something easy or grill for a backyard picnic meal
Don't forget the s'mores! - roast the marshmallows over the grill or a fire pit or you can quickly broil in the oven (use cooking spray on pan or nonstick surface)
Sunday breakfast - go easy with pastries and fruit or consider cooking eggs or pancakes on the grill for more adventure (like Jonathan in photo above)
Challenge yourselves to stay out of the house as much as possible during your campout (we even hopped on our bikes Sunday morning to go grab a coffee/hot chocolate without going into the house!)
Pack activities for all campers
Activity bingo card - Print out the attached bingo card, check off as many activities as you can, snap a picture of your completed bingo card and/or pics of your bingo activities and post on our Facebook page or just email us (trinitytrailspack350@gmail.com) the photo(s). Anyone that submits a bingo card/camping photos will receive a fall campout activity patch. The top 3 bingo cards with the most items completed will each win a $10 Amazon gift card.
Family pumpkin carving contest - carve a pumpkin together as a family, snap a picture and post on our Facebook page or just email us (trinitytrailspack350@gmail.com) the photo. The top 3 most creative family pumpkins will each win a $10 Sonic gift card.
5pm Saturday campsite tour on Zoom, drawing - Log in to a quick zoom to show off your campsite setup and see what others are doing. At the end of that zoom, we will have a drawing for all the zoom participants for a $25 REI gift card.
